Create 2D schematic designs of routed systems

Product design is constantly evolving and so should your CAD software. Creo 7.0 will deliver the next generation of design innovation with revolutionary new capabilities in the areas of generative design, real-time simulation, additive manufacturing and multibody design. These latest observations are based on, Creo 5.0 (formerly Pro/Engineer) compared with SolidWorks 17. Biggest Differences: Creo vs SolidWorks 1. Speed to Accomplish Stuff. Both use the keyboard, and both use the mouse for quick access to commands. Creo is a next generation Mac tool which aims to combine the Design and Development process into a single easy to use application. Thanks to our CreoKIT we always use NATIVE components and classes, no simulated or web based code is used. Creo is a MacOS tool which aims to combine the Design and Development process into a single easy to use application. Traditional mobile app creation process is split between the design process and the development process, Creo merges the two separated steps into a single tool which enables you to focus on what makes your app unique instead of wasting time building a nonfunctional prototype.

Creo Schematics is a comprehensive, stand-alone 2D diagramming solution for creating 2D schematic diagrams of routed systems such as cabling, piping, HVAC, and hydraulic systems. The software automates the creation of detailed 3D routed system designs from existing 2D schematics within Creo Parametric and Creo Elements/Direct. This saves time, reduces errors, and eliminates tedious manual processes by correctly interpreting 2D logic and transferring it accurately into 3D. It also improves product quality by capturing both electrical and mechanical design intelligence within a single digital model. Now, design professionals across multiple disciplines can streamline product development processes and collaborate more effectively.

Creo Schematics features and benefits:

With Creo Schematics, you can:

  • Create schematic designs for routed systems quickly and easily, including complete system documentation, regardless of complexity;
  • Capture electrical and mechanical design intelligence within a single digital model;
  • Improve product quality by improving collaboration among electrical and mechanical designers;
  • Automatically create detailed 3D routed system designs from 2D schematics within Creo Parametric, and reduce errors and speed up time to market; and
  • Preserve the value of existing 2D data in both Creo Parametric and Creo Elements/Direct 3D modeling environments.

Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E) is conducted throughout the acquisition process to assist in engineering design and development and to verify that technical performance specifications have been met. DT&E is planned and monitored by the developing agency and is normally conducted by the contractor. It includes the T&E of components, subsystems, Preplanned Product Improvement (P3I) changes, hardware/software integration, and production qualification testing. It encompasses the use of models, simulations, test beds, and prototypes or full-scale engineering development models of the system.

The (3) three specific types of DT&E are: [1]

DT&E is focused on early involvement in the acquisition life cycle by testing and evaluating earlier and more effectively, which will help to decrease costs, enhance performance, and retain schedule for programs. OSD DT&E Website

DT&E includes activities that: [2]

  • Demonstrate that the engineering design and development process is complete
  • Demonstrate that the design risks have been minimized
  • Demonstrate that the system will meet specifications
  • Estimate the system's military utility when introduced
  • Determine whether the engineering design is supportable (practical, maintainable, safe, etc.) for operational use
  • Provide test data with which to examine and evaluate trade-offs against specification requirements, life cycle cost, and schedule
  • Perform the logistics testing efforts to evaluate the achievement of supportability goals, the adequacy of the support package for the system, (e.g., deliverable maintenance tools, test equipment, technical publications, maintenance instructions, and personnel skills and training requirements, etc.).

The Program Manager (PM) is responsible for the ultimate success of the overall program. The PM and the test specialists on the PM's staff must foster an environment that provides the contractor with sufficient latitude to pursue innovative solutions to technical problems and, at the same time, provides the data needed to make rational trade-off decisions between cost, schedule, and performance as the program progresses. [1]

Product Qualification Testing (PGT) is also another form of development testing that verifies the design and manufacturing process. PQTs are formal contractual tests that confirm the integrity of the system design over the operational and environmental range in the specification. [1]

Qualification Test and Evaluation (QT&E) is performed by government test representatives and is a tailored type of DT&E for which there is little to no RDT&E-funded development effort. It validates how a system integrates into its intended environment, how it meets specified requirements in accordance with the approved design, and how it meets performance standards.
